Super Simple Blueberry Vanilla Overnight Oats
Super Simple Blueberry Vanilla Overnight Oats
These overnight oats have been a handy, simple recipe in my house lately. They are super quick to make the night before and reduce decision-making in the morning (which I personally hate). The toppings and flavors of milk can be swapped for a boatload of flavorful combinations to fit anyone's taste.
Alternate Topping Ideas
The topping ingredients can be switched to whatever your favorite fruit and nut combo is. Here are some of my ideas
- Strawberries
- Raspberry
- Chocolate
- Peanut butter/ peanuts
- Almonds
- Walnuts
- Peanuts
- Kiwi
- Cashews
- Apples
- Peaches
- Bannana
Alternate Milk Flavors
Like the fruit and nut remixes, traditional kinds of milk are not all the liquid options available. I’ve tried a couple different milk and creamer flavors, and they all do fine. Here are some examples I like.
- Vanilla oat creamer
- Chocolate milk
- Sugar free cinnamon roll coffee creamer
- Pumpkin spice creamer
- Lactaid milk
- Chai
- Mango coconut milk
- Kefir
- Hazelnut creamer
- Italian sweet cream creamer
- French Vanilla creamer
Of course, the yogurt can also vary. I just don’t know many crazy yogurt flavors, so I pretty much go between vanilla Greek yogurt and vanilla regular yogurt.
Ingredients
- ½ cup greek yogurt
- ½ cup vanilla oat milk or vanilla almond milk
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- ¼ blueberries
- ¼ pecans
- Cinnamon to taste
- Brown sugar to taste(optional)
Directions.
Option 1.
Mix all the ingredients together making sure that everything is mixed evenly, cover and store in the fridge overnight. Enjoy
Option 2.
Mix the milk, cinnamon, oats, and yogurt together store in fridge overnight. Top with blueberries and pecans before eating. Enjoy
No grain no gain
The oats in this recipe really carry the meal. That’s why it’s super important to pick whole oats, not quick or instant oats. Quick oats are softer and do not have the same resistance to turning into sludge. I use old-fashioned to get maximum oat absorption capabilities.
